springtime in Oklahoma
Well, it’s arrived, officially! We had stormy weather last night and again this morning. None of it reached us, really. It usually splits and goes to one side or the other of us, thankfully. It looked like it was going to be stormy this morning but it went north of us. Cooled down to about 60 degrees, then it went away and it’s sunny and warm again lol! I was out in the garden planting some sunflowers that I had started in the house(not a good idea, they get leggy!)when it started thundering and lightening popped, I made it back in the house in record time let me tell you! This girl is NOT interested in getting fried~
As for my garden, it’s coming along slowly. I have a gate. And half a fence(it was already up). Dh was supposed to put the rest of it up this last weekend, all I got was a gate lol. He says he will do it this coming weekend. We’ll see~
here’s my gate lol~

congrats to Denny Hamlin~
Congrats to Denny Hamlin for winning at Martinsville, that clock looks really cool! Darrel Waltrip has 11 of those things!?lol
And of course, congrats to Dale jr and the #88 team, led the most laps and finished 6th. Not a win, but the consistency is impressive. I still find myself holding my breath during the last 100 laps or so of a race, praying he doesn’t go from a top five or ten finish to blowing up. I’m so thankful he is at Hendrick Motorsports now, and actually has a chance to do the great things I know he is capable of~hugs~

ferret update

Here he is so far, coming along nicely. He’s a fun stitch, not very many color changes, there are only 3 colors in the main part of his body.
I’m having internet issues at the moment, I’ve switched providers and it is a pain, let me tell you! oh well, it will all get sorted out eventually. Change is supposed to be a good thing, right?!lol

I am Legend~
I just watched I am Legend with Will Smith today-OMG!! I wanted to go see it when it came out in theaters but couldn’t, no babysitter etc. Not many movies catch my attention these days, but this one did bigtime. I cried, of course. I won’t give away the ending, just take my word, it is good. Not for small children to watch however as it is scary as hell. My daughter started watching it with me & I had to turn it off as it scared her big time. She’s only 7 after all!
Not much else is going on, hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We stayed home and hid eggs in the yard for Jessie, watched the Miracle Maker which is a great movie, the true meaning of Easter~
I also finished reading a book called Break no Bones, by Kathy Reichs. She’s the author who inspired the Fox TV show Bones, with David Boreanaz(insert drool here lol) It was a really good read, even if I got a little lost with all the technical words pertaining to forensics etc. I will be getting the rest of the books she’s written, there are 7 others~ ;0

Proud Lady/Artecy
Here is Proud Lady, it’s an artecy pattern based on the artwork of Kayomi Harai. I love this one, she’s so regal and, well, proud and majestic looking! I’m stitching this one on 22 count hardanger with one thread & it’s coming along nicely.
Of course, since the weather has been so nice here lately, I’ve been spending alot of time working in the yard, trying to get my garden ready for the season! My husband is going to get some fencing so we can finish fencing it in this weekend, then the serious work begins! Bermuda grass, everywhere! I gave up on it last year and just mowed it, lol There are raised beds so I just used those for all my flowers. Hopefully I will get to do more this year~

Burden/after March sal
This is Burden, from the artwork of Krystal Camprubi. I’m stitching it 1 over 1 on 28 count evenweave. It’s my main HAED project and I’ve been working on it since October of 2006, lol

Las Vegas
Congrats to Carl Edwards for the win, Dale jr finished 2nd!! What a great comeback from a 40th place finish in California, next week should be a good race for him as well. I’m thankful that Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon both walked away from their wrecks, let’s hear it for the safer barriers~

Hello! Yesterday was a warm one here, I spent the majority of the afternoon outside working in my garden. I had some bulbs that I bought at the store that had already started to sprout so I needed to get them in the ground asap, even though the weather is still pretty cold. I have lots of other bulbs up in the yard, daffodils, crocus, etc. And the birds have been singing a lovely chorus here the past few days. All in all the weather is turning towards spring and I’m loving it! I need to go to Lowes and get some fence wire & t-posts so I can fence in the garden, Stormy-Puppy was very interested in digging up what I planted and making off with my watering can etc. Mischievous little thing she is, but so cute!
We’re still picking up tree limbs after the nasty icestorm that we had in December, it’s very different here now. Almost all of the trees lost their tops and limbs/branches are still falling down, it’s not safe to walk in certain places on the property. It’s really kind of depressing as I put a lot of work into cleaning up and expanding the yard some(we live on 10 acres in the country), now I have to start all over~oh well, that’s life right?!

~california woes~
Congrats to Carl Edwards for the win. I didn’t see it today, didn’t really feel like watching since Dale jr had no chance of winning. I know, spoil sport-ish of me. lol
Hopefully next week will be better for Jr, no rain please!
